The US President Trump has crowned the "bout" of appeasing he initiated during the G20 summit by the bilateral meetings with an unlisted meeting with North Korean President Kim Jong-Un in a movement that appeared to be outside the context of the American political scene, or beyond the American style of thinking and confrontation approach, which he devoted with the countries of the world, including ally and adversary, near and far ones. Unusually, this bout hasn't come without political appeasing.
The conciliatory tone colored the discussions of the G20 summit through the bilateral meetings, and even the decisions reached though limited but seemed to be indisputable as many of these bilateral meetings were more important than the G20 summit on its busy agenda, which had accumulated over the past years, so that the summit appeared to have been aimed at bilateral meetings rather than debate on the agenda.
The positions of the American president has featured by a revisionist feature and perhaps appeasement in many of the points of controversy and conflicting that characterized his previous positions. He even showed an unprecedented cordiality, or, more accurately, expressed what is contradicted to his personality and his usual speech. He was closer to reconciliation in the conflicting points at the level of international relations. He seemed as if he wanted to restore what has destroyed by his previous positions and repair what spoiled by his Tweets !!
However, on the principle of "Always has been, always will be" he quickly turned against many of his positions at the G-20 summit. As soon as these positions were announced, the opposite appeared. He seemed incapable to go on the role he played, especially since the election race points to a heat that requires some appeasement at the level of the international relations, marking an upcoming stage that will complicate the world scene.
It is clear that America under Trump, has caused the biggest scene of conflicts. It has caused unprecedented cracks in global system. This indicates that the desire for appeasement is not by chance, as much as it carries the desire to end the current term and establish the second while the factor of international relations is crucial, given the erosion of the American friendships and the decrease of the level of reliability of its pledges, promises and commitments.
The difference remains that President Trump is not about to abandon the approach he has devoted, evidenced by that the threats and the cheap blackmail have not stopped but continues to drive his desire. So, what he is doing at the extreme, is a PR marketing campaign that carries more failure factors than establishing a new phase in the US policy, and that the bout of reconciliation or appeasement remains temporary and dependent on the interests of the White House, and perhaps the interest of Trump and his closest aides!
